Broadmeadow's Bill of Sale

This bill of sale is part of a family tragedy.

Thomas Buxton, of Broad Meadow Hall, was 30 years old and described as ‘an opulent farmer’ when he married Keziah Milward in 1795.

Five years later, aged only 35, he died leaving a widow and a young son. A year later Keziah decides she has to move away, leaving her home, selling not only all the farming implements and stock but also her furniture. Click here to see a transcription of the will.
